Brief Tour

Your trekking will be in the most northern part of Myanmar, Southern slope of Himalayas. It is a perfect place for both adventure and light trekking. One can observe the hill tribes villages, flora and fauna and birds watching. Putao is a small town near the snow capped mountains, is home to the hill tribes (Lisu, Shan, Rawan).

We put the chance for the travellers to relax and experience the cultural highlight in Yangon and Mandalay after the hard trekking days.

Day 1 Arrival in Yangon


Arrival in Yangon! Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. After make a pause, our guide will bring you to enjoy the welcome dinner with traditional theatre. Overnight in Yangon

Day 2 Yangon_Putao (flight)
Fly to Putao, the most northern town in Myanmar, located at the foot of southern Himalaya slope. Khakaborazi is the highest mountain in South-east Asia, 5885 m high. Ganlanyazi; 5000 m and Phokanrazi mountains are reachable by trekking from Putao. Upon your arrival, transfer to the guesthouse and explore the town in the evening. It is home to mostly Lisu, Khanti Shan and Rawan hill tribes.

Day 3 (Trekking)
Trek to the Sangaung Rawan and Lisu tribe village through the lush forest for about 5 hours trekking time. Explore the hill tribes and overnight in Local house.

Day 4 (Trekking)
Continue to trek to the Wasodam village (900m) by passing over the Jake Mountain, 1400 m above sea level. It takes about 6 hours up and down trekking time. Discover the hill tribe villages on the way and experience the rhythmic sound of jungle, such as the voice of monkey, tags and deer in the jungle. Overnight in local house

Day 5 (Trekking)
After Breakfast, continue to Ziyadum village, 1065 m above sea level, through the jungle. You will experience the 6 hours trekking with full of excitement, crossing over the Bridge, a gigantic trees on the way, etc. Overnight in the village at local house

Day 6 (Trekking)
Today is your day to explore the local ways of life in Ziyadum while making break for trekking. Most villagers are living from hunting. Enjoy the scenic beauty of nature and Himalaya environ.

Day 7 (Trekking)
Today is the first day of your back trekking from different route to Putao for 3 days trekking. Trek to the Wasondum for about 6 hours. Stop at the village surrounded by the mountains. Overnight at Wasondum

Day 8 (Trekking)
Trek to Jusqu-au village passing over the Jake Mountain range, 1400 m. One needs a good physical condition for 7 hours up and down trekking. Overnight at the local house in Jusqu-au

Day 9 (Trekking)
Trek down hill to Putao for about 5 hours through the rice field. On the way, visit to the Rawan village and meet with the local inhabitants. The trekking is end at Putao, your starting point of 6 days trekking. Overnight in Putao

Accommodation: Expect for the very high up market Malikha resort, so far there is none of the standard facility exists in Putao. All rooms come with attached bathroom with western toilet and bath tub but are mostly not functioning well. Electricity will be available limited time only. Hot water will be provided with bucket in the morning but no breakfast will be served.

All of our expeditions involve local home stay and tent accommodation. With a local home stay we choose a suitable home in a village. Night will then be spent in candle light and wood fire. Toilet will be clean but mostly local squat type. Limited amount of hot water will be supplied for face wash in every morning. When pitching a tent, two clients will share a tent, unless they have requested and paid for a single supplement. All our tents are screened, although we very rarely encounter any mosquitoes during the cool trekking season.

Meal: We take care of all catering on your expedition, although clients are always welcome to assist if they wish to. A hot breakfast will be served around 8 am, lunch usually is simple and light and serve during mid day follow by an hour rest. Dinner will be more extensive featuring pre dinner snacks and deserts. Clients with special dietary requirements will have to advise us at the time of booking.

Day 10 Putao-Mandalay
Fly to Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. Upon your arrival, transfer to the Hotel. In the evening, visit to the Shwe-nan-daw monastery, the original building of royal Palace, Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world’s biggest book, Sandamuni pagoda and Mandalay hill to enjoy the panoramic view of Mandalay and beautiful sunset.

Day 11 Amarapura-Inwa-Mingun
This morning you will be driven to the ancient capital Amarapura. Visit U Pein teak Bridge, 1.3 km long, silk weaving workshop and Mahar Gandaryon monastery, where more than 1000 monks live, observe the monk life there. Then continue to another ancient capital, Inwa. After passing the river, take a horse cart and explore the ancient capital, where the suffering temples are dotted.
After lunch, you will make a short cool boat ride

to Mingun across the Ayeyarwaddy. Relax on the private small boat for an hour, you arrive Mingun. Visit giant Mingun pagoda, the third biggest Bell and Mya-thein-tan temple on foot. Today your day end up with beautiful sunset on boat.

Day 12 in last royal city Mandalay
Before leaving Mandalay, visit the rest of the sightseeing, famous Mahar-muni Pagoda, stone carving, gold leaf work shop. Ask your tour guide, if you want to experience sitting local tea shop, sitting at the tea shop is a part of Burmese life. Fly back to Yangon. Relax your last evening in Myanmar.

Day 13 in Yangon
In the morning your tour guide will take you full day sightseeing in Yangon. The tour starts at the city centre; You will be firstly introduced the Buddhism at the gilded Sule pagoda, dating back to 2000 years, then stroll around the colonial buildings and street vendors along the road. After visiting Botataung Pagoda, where you can see the relief chamber, continue to Kyauk-htet-gyi reclining Buddha, 72 m long and 19 m high, Karaweik Hall to observe the Burmese architecture, then China Town. Then visit to the magnificent Shwe-da-gon Pagoda both daylight and electric light.

Day 14 (Departure)
Your guide accompany to the Yangon International airport for your flight back home. You leave the wonderful Myanmar and very friendly Myanmar people. Your fascinating trekking trip is end here.
