Day 1 (Arrival)

Arrival in Yangon! Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel. After making a pause, our guide will bring you to enjoy the warmly welcome dinner with traditional theatre.

Day 2 in Yangon
In the morning your tour guide will take you full day sightseeing in Yangon. The tour starts at the city centre; You will be firstly introduced the Buddhism at the gilded Sule pagoda, dating back to 2000 years, next to the British-Burmese style city hall, then stroll around the colonial buildings and street vendors along the road. After visiting Botataung Pagoda, where you can see the relief chamber inside the pagoda, Kyauk-htet-gyi reclining Buddha, 72 m long and 19 m high, Karaweik Hall to observe the Burmese architecture, then China Town. Then visit to the magnificent Shwe-da-gon Pagoda both daylight and night light.

Day 3 Yangon- Mandalay-Amarapura (flight)
Today fly to the second largest city Mandalay, Burmese cultural centre. On the way to your hotel, visit U Pein teak bridge, silk weaving workshop and Mahar Gandaryon monastery, where over 1000 monks live, observe the monk life there. Then drive to Mandalay to check in your hotel. Here you will notice the different between Yangon and Mandalay, the people, the streets.

After lunch, continue your sightseeing to Mandalay royal Palace, Shwe Nan Daw monastery, the original building of Palace, Kutho Taw pagoda, the world’s biggest book and Sandar-muni Pagoda, for taking nice photo from there, then drive up the Mandalay hill to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and sunset.

Day 4 Mandalay
After breakfast, visit famous Mahar-muni Pagoda, stone carving, gold leaf work shop and Shwe-in-bin monastery. Ask your tour guide, if you want to experience sitting local tea shop. Sitting at the tea shop is a part of Burmese city life!
Continue to Sagaing, ancient city, in the afternoon. It is famous for its numerous monasteries, nunneries and Sagaing hill, where hundred of pagodas are dotted. Visit Sagaing hill, one of the nunneries, silversmith and huge Kaung-mu-daw pagoda, in Srilinka style. Return to Mandalay.

Day 5 Mandalay-Putao, Tue, Fri (flight)
Today you will fly to Putao and transfer to your Guest House. You will be firstly introduced the most northern Myanmar by strolling around the town.

Day 6 in Putao
This morning you will visit the Putao market while observing the Kachin ethnic group, most tribes here are Lisu, Rawan and Kanti Shan. They are direct, simple and hard working like the other hill tribes. Then you walk about 30 minute to proceed to Pan Hlaing village to explore lifestyle of the hill tribes.

Day 7 in Putao
Today you will explore the two other Machanbal and Mularshide village. After an hour drive, you will proceed to Machanbal, where the Lisu, Rawan and Kanti Shan live and stroll around the market and the town. Then continue to Mularshide, a very pleasant Lisu village situated by the river. Discover the ways of their village life.

Day 8 Putao-Myitkyina / Tue, Fri (10:55_11:45) (flight)
After breakfast, fly to Myit-kyi-nar, the capital of Kachin State. Upon your arrival, transfer to your Hotel and you will explore the town. Myitkyinar is the capital of Kachin State.

Day 9 Myitkyina – Bamaw (en route)
After breakfast drive to Bhamo (appr. 6 hours), a small river town, 186 km south of Myitkina and close to the Chinese border. Late afternoon watch the daily river activities at the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. On the way, visit the local work shop in Waing Maw. Lunch will be on your way.

Day 10 Bamaw _Kathar (cruising)
Today you will be transferred to the jetty after visiting the colourful local market. Enjoy your journey to Kathar through the Ayeyarwaddy. You will visit the Sinkan village on the way. Take a nice walk to the old Teak monastery and temple in ruins overgrown by grass and moss. Then continue your journey to Kathar.

Day 11 Kathar_Tagaung (cruising)
Breakfast on board. Then explore Kathar, a beautiful town with interesting market, nice people and pleasant atmosphere. Get back on Board and enjoy your downriver boat trip, busy river life; wood and bamboo rafting, local ferry boats, gold prospectors which will take you back about 60 years in your country. When you arrive in Ta-gaung, one of the oldest ancient Myanmar towns, you will make a stop and take a walk around the town.

Day 12 Tagaung_Mingun_Mandalay (Cruising)
After breakfast, you explore Tagaung or continue your destination to famous pottery village, Kyauk Myaung. The village is very interesting with the different types of pot work shops. Lunch will be provided on Board.

In the evening you will arrive in Mingun. Visit unfinished giant Mingun Pagoda, and the largest hanging bell, weight 90 tons and very nice shaped Mya-Thein-tan Temple. You will proceed to Mandalay jetty after 45 minutes boat ride.

Day 13 Mandalay-Sagaing-Bagan
This morning you will visit to Sagaing, ancient city. It is famous for its numerous monasteries, nunneries and Sagaing hill, where hundred of pagodas are dotted. Visit Sagaing hill, one of the nunneries, silversmith and huge Kaung-mu-daw pagoda, in Srilinka style.
After Lunch you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to historical Bagan, the biggest archaeological site in South-east Asia.

Day 14 in Bagan
Visit Nyaung Oo Market, Shwe-zi-gon Pagoda, the most venerated one, Gu-pyauk gyi temple, very nice original fresco, Hti-lo-min-lo Temple, Kah-min-ga, for panoramic view, Ananda Temple, the finest art. After lunch, visit to the traditional Lacquer-ware workshop to observe how they make good quality Lacquer products, Manuhar Temple, where three huge seated Buddha and reclining Buddha are placed, Gubyauk gyi, the finest Fresco in Bagan temples, Shwe-gu-gyi, the best panoramic view at the evening. Then take a horse cart to Pya-that -gyi for sunset.

Day 15 in Bagan
You adjust the tour programme for today with your tour guide. A car, bicycles and our tour guide stand by for sightseeing. You can enjoy the sunrise from your hotel or near if you are fit and fresh in the morning and you can freely visit the temples by bicycle or visit some temple such as Su-lar-ma-ni, Dha-ma-yan-gyi, by car with our guide. Lunch will be at the nice river view restaurant. You leave Bagan in the evening and fly to Yangon.

Day 16 (Departure)
Your guide will accompany to the Yangon International airport for your flight back home. You leave Myanmar and very friendly Myanmar people. Your trip is end here.

Simple accommodation and meals on day-5 to 12(in Putao and on Board). There are no cabins on board. On the lower deck which is semi open there is a ‘kitchen’ at the back as well as a toilet with cold water (no shower facilities on board). In the big open space we will set up a dining area as well as beds with cotton mattresses, pillows and mosquito nets.

Option: we can substitute the luxury hotel in Putao and luxury river cruise for the program.
